Adding a newsletter

Caution - be sensitive to the content of Minutes and any other material you are publishing.  Read through them to be sure they don't contain things that people might not want on the web. Examples might include contact details, full names of children, or names of adults in some circumstances.

You can add a newsletter (e.g. Scottish Friend or your LM newsletter) to any of your pages. Once added, the latest newsletter will appear in a box on the right hand side of the page. Old newsletters will be available via a link called "Older Newsletters" at the bottom of this box.

To add a newsletter:

  1. Navigate to the page you would like to add the Newsletter to.
  2. In the box entitled Add content at the top right of the page, click on Add newsletter. You will be taken to a page called Create Newsletter.
  3. Fill in the Title (e.g. Scottish Friend).
  4. Fill in the Publication Date.
  5. Upload a PDF of the newsletter by clicking on Browse... underneath the PDF heading.
  6. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the page.
  7. The Newsletter should now appear on the right of your page.

If you have added more than one newsletter, there will be a link entitled Older Newsletters to a page with your older newsletters, arranged in reverse (newest-to-oldest) order.

Frequently asked questions

If there are already Newsletters on site (added as "attachments" to the page) do I have to upload them again?
I'm afraid so - but you could just move onto the new system for new
newsletters and leave the old ones as they are.

If I upload newsletters one at a time can I upload the current one now and do the back issues later or do they have to be uploaded in chronological order?
You can upload the current newsletter now and upload the back issues
later. You don't need to upload newsletters in chronological order, because it is the date of the newsletter that is used to sort.
