National Planning Framework 4 - how it turned out!
solar panels.jpg

The draft Fourth National Planning Framework was a lengthy and wide-ranging document setting the direction of travel for planning policy in Scotland in the context of the target of "net-zero" by 2045. The Parliamentary Engagement Officer and PEWG were helped by the Scottish Climate Change Action Network and by Planning Democracy (a charity dedicated to reform of the planning system). The consultation was large - 70 questions – so the aim was for our response to focus only on points where we have specifically Quaker points to make. In view of the work that went into the response we thought Friends might be interested to see the summary of the final NPF4, just on points where we tried to bring our influence to bear. Many thanks to our PEO for pulling together this summary - the document is on the Climate Justice and Economic Justice pages.
