Milngavie Quaker Meeting

Meeting for worship

The meeting in Milngavie is small, lively but very spiritual (on average 12 or more). Visitors are very welcome.

After meeting for worship we give time for contributing thoughts that it did not feel right to say in the meeting itself.  Then it's tea and coffee time.

Meetings are held on the second and last Sundays of the month, at 11am in the Fraser Centre, next to Marks and Spencer in the pedestrian precinct in the centre of Milngavie, near the war memorial. Its official address is:

11 Douglas Street
Milngavie
G62 6PA

The building has level entry at the back door (the right hand section the car park behind Marks and Spencers), where someone can be dropped off quite close to the door.  There is no hearing loop.

Getting there: From Glasgow, a train leaves Queen Street Station at 9:54am, connecting with the 10:04am direct train from Central Station to arrive in Milngavie at 10:30am. Walk to the Fraser Centre in about 10 minutes. A 60A bus goes from Central Station (Hope Street) at 9:52am to Milngavie (Park Road), arriving about 10:25am. Walk to the Fraser Centre in about 5 minutes. By car, the Centre is just behind Marks & Spencer's car park on Woodburn Way.

About Milngavie

Milngavie is a small mixed-community town, which is still referred to as "the village" even though it now has a population of 14,000. It is at the start of the "West Highland Way", the long-distance walk to Fort William.

A new motel and restaurant has opened since the demise of the Black Bull, which was an old coaching inn; and there are many pubs and small restaurants and good shops.
